Silly Humans — Description
Another centaur picture, this one not so dramatic. It began as a sketch, bu evolved into a nice little scene of my characters Rosa and Erik, years after Rosa's near-fatal accident in battle.

When a centaur of the Grassburners is permanently lamed, the way Rosa was, the centaur no longer has any place in the corps. And as a rider had been trained to specifically work with one particular centaur, loss of centaur meant that the rider no longer had a mount, and thus no place either. So the pair moved out into the Rag Quarter of the city, scrounging for odd jobs and working as cheap labor.

This shows the two of them on their way home after a busy day towards the end of the summer. Rosa's right leg shows the scar from her injury, but she's still strong enough to carry a rider; she just can't gallop or canter for very long. Erik has found one of the first leaves of fall, and he's picked it out of her hair, but is threatening to put it back there. Rosa is tolerating him, as she usually does.

I'm still working with centaur and horse anatomy, and it's very confusing. This can't be counted as a major piece; it's more of just a silly sketch used for two-tone coloring practice. But I'm rather pleased with the pose, and it was fun to draw and color.
